The Challis Lodge and Lounge is a full service restaurant, bar and 18 room motel. Challis Idaho. is considered to be the gateway to the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness Area. For outdoor enthusiasts, Central Idaho induces the proverbial “kid in a candy store” effect. Whether you enjoy hunting, fishing, mountain sports, or just admiring the four-season landscapes, Challis is the perfect destination.  The area also sees a lot of travelers and motorcyclists in the summer and is known for the “Braun Brothers Reunion Festival,” which increases the town’s population by 6,000 each August.

After an active day of enjoying nature’s wonders, stop in the Challis Lodge & Lounge for a bite to eat, a cold drink, and a place to rest. The restaurant features a hearty menu highlighted by their delicious hand-cut steaks, as well as a full service bar.

The motel houses eighteen and offers the amenities of home for a reasonable price.

Owners, Norm and Kelly Thorpe, purchased the establishment in July, 2009. It only took one visit from the Thorpes the previous spring to fall in love with the place, and like so many other Idaho residents, they traded in their previous lifestyle for a slower-paced  and friendlier environment.

For down-home hospitality and service the Challis Lodge & Lounge is your best bet. For reservations, directions or information, call 208-879-2251

Please note that due to current smoking laws in Idaho, no one under 21 is allowed in the restaurant and bar area.
