The Challis Lodge and Lounge is a full service restaurant, bar and 18 room motel. Challis Idaho. is considered to be the gateway to the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness Area.

For outdoor enthusiasts, Central Idaho induces the proverbial “kid in a candy store” effect. The area also sees a lot of travelers and motorcyclists in the summer and is known for the “Braun Brothers Reunion Festival,” which increases the town’s population by 6,000 each August.

Owners, Norm and Kelly Thorpe, purchased the establishment in July, 2009. It only took one visit from the Thorpes the previous spring to fall in love with the place, and like so many other Idaho residents, they traded in their previous lifestyle for a slower-paced and friendlier environment.
